Hi all just a quick question,I have an an ultra q pro peq 2200 going into the back of my 850 ,when setting up the eq how do you start, is it best to start with the Hi's a work down to the Low,or start at the bottom and work my way up.It sounds ok but I wont to start at the beginning again and learn properly,it's not the best eq in the world but i'm not spending lots on a 2496 just yet ,let's (keep it simple stupid) and see what i can do,Thanks you lot Nicky "English

hi nicky,
the 2200 sure is a nice device. the only thing i donŽt like on the 2200 is that it has no memory function and i use to have different curves for different cases.
i usually start with the low end to see how how it will sound there and then go to the upper frequencys to have everything well balanced and polished. maybe thats because i love the low end very much and like to play with that .. thats voodoo passion...
you will reach a limit on how much highs you can get through. there is a point where things wonŽt stay clean any longer. maybe youŽll have to drop some lows then to get the balance.
you got a compressor already? if not, youŽll need to get one cause it will help you alot.
take care and letŽs see what the other guys say
andy
... if in doubt, increase bandwidth ...

Hello ssbaudio.net!
About the low end of audio from my point of view, the best solution is the balance between the low and the high bands according to the operator voice. Else you'll just waste power on something that is gonna be lost in the RX filters or it will damage the intelligibility of your signal.
Cheers and beers!
